The Prime Minister, Dr Navinchandra Ramgoolam, met, today, his Australian counterpart, Mr Anthony Albanese, at the State Lounge of the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam(SSR) International Airport in Plaisance.
The High Commissioner of Australia to Mauritius, Ms Kate Chamley, as well as other personalities were also present at the SSR International Airport to greet Prime Minister Albanese.
The Australian Prime Minister was on transit at the Mauritian airport on his way back to Australia. He arrived from Brazil where he attended the 2024 G20 Rio de Janeiro Summit.It is noted that this year marks 54 years of diplomatic relations between Mauritius and Australia with cooperation in several sectors namely economic, education, environment, gender, and health.
